Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or CBT, is a psychological treatment that focuses on the way people think and behave in order to help them overcome emotional problems.
A central concept of CBT is that you feel the way you think. Therefore CBT works on the principle that you can live more happily and productively if you’re thinking in healthy ways. CBT is an equal partnership between therapist and client. The treatment methods will be clearly explained to you and you will be asked to complete tasks between sessions to speed up your recovery.
CBT is a time limited, solution focused therapy. Most clients require a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 20 sessions.
