What is Ozone/Ozone Therapy?
The oxygen that we breathe in is made up of 2 oxygen atoms (chemical symbol O2). Ozone is made up of 3 oxygen atoms (chemical symbol O3). Ozone has a very high oxidation effect, therefore it is also known as active oxygen.
Like the oxygen that we breathe in, Ozone is a natural component of our atmosphere,(many of us may be aware of the ozone layer associated with global warming or the ozone associated with summer fog.)
Ozone Therapy is the administration of medical ozone for the treatment of various medical conditions, for preventative health measures and for optimal health reasons.
The ozone used in medicine is produced from medical oxygen(O2) via silent high electrical discharge. Medical ozone is prepared and administered on site by a specific method using specialized equipment.
What are the beneficial effects of Ozone Therapy?
- It kills many kinds of bacteria, viruses, yeasts, fungi and parasites.
- It helps the liver with detoxification, thus purifying blood and lymph.
- Enforces the decomposition of fats thus helping lower levels of cholesterol and “bad fats” in the body.
- Considerably improves the metabolic processes of the cells, the motor of energy production in the body, which in turn speeds up the metabolic processes of the inner organs and the endocrine glands aiding in weight loss.
- Stimulates the immune system speeding healing and recovery from illness and reduces inflammation and post injury pains.
- Reduces the clotting of the red blood cells and thus improves the transport of oxygen and blood flow which reduces circulation problems.
- Increases the amount of oxygen available to the tissues and thus leads to better adsorption.
- Breaks down the level of uric acid in the body which is the cause of gout and damages the blood vessels.
How is it administered?
At Synergy Healthcare we administer Ozone either by Ozone Steam Bath or Intravenously (Hyperbar Ozone Therapy).
Ozone Steam Bath
The client relaxes in the Turkish style steam bath in which the steam is enriched with ozone which is then absorbed by the skin into the body. This has the added bonus of the body being exposed to heat, which increases the eliminative detoxifying and cleansing capacity of the skin by stimulation of the sweat glands.
Other Additional Benefits of Ozone Steam Bath:
- Relaxes and looses muscles increasing flexibility.
- Oxidizes toxins so they can be eliminated through the skin, lungs, kidneys and colon.
- Stimulates vasodilation, boosting circulation in peripheral blood vessels, relieving pain and speeding healing.
- Oxidizes lactic acid (produced when exercising) preventing soreness the next day.
Intravenous Ozone (Hyperbar Ozone Therapy)
During this process blood is taken into a sterile bottle, which is then mixed with sodium citrate or heparin to keep it from clotting. Ozone is then mixed with the blood and reinfused back into the patient. The whole process is extremely safe, administrated by a trained medical practitioner and lasts approximately twenty minutes. According to its application, the ozone concentration can vary between 1 and 100 mcg/ml (0.05-5 % 03). The trained practitioner determines the correct dosage according to the medical indication and the patient’s condition. With this principle, Ozone and oxygen are delivered to all the organs and tissues of the body in much higher quantities when flowing back into the blood system.
Medical Conditions that respond well to Intravenous Ozone Therapy (Hyperbar Ozone Therapy):
- ACNE, ECZEMA
- LIVER DAMAGE DUE TO ALCOHOL OR VIRUSES
- GOUT
- ALL DISEASES OF EYES DUE TO REDUCED OF BLOOD CIRCULATION
- MIGRAINE
- VERTIGO
- COLDS AND FLUS
- ARTERIAL CALCIFICATION OF THE CORONARY ARTERIES
- RHEUMATIC DISEASE EG. MUSCLE OR JOINT RHEUMATISM, LUMBAGO
- HIGH CHOLESTEROL
Additional therapy for Cancer
Because ozone therapy brings a positive effect to all the organs and systems in our bodies there is no doubt that it is also an excellent tool in preventative medicine and maintaining optimal health. It is therefore very useful as a precautionary measure against diseases/conditions with existing risks or genetic predisposition such as nicotine addiction, high cholesterol, high uric acid, high blood pressure, diabetes and coronary artery disease.
